Come to CORE! If you have never been to our whole community gathering, this is the month that you should! Great food, topics, fellowship, activities for the kids and it’s all free! All parents with children in the 1st Eucharist and 1st Reconciliation program are reminded to attend a parent meeting on 4 May in the Faith and Life Center at 11:00 am. We will discuss the upcoming reception of the sacraments. Email Margie with any questions: margie@stjeromennva.org

On 10 May at 10:00 am in the church, the children in the 1st Reconciliation/ 1st Eucharist program will be receiving their 1st Reconciliation. Please contact Margie if you have any questions.

On 4 May, several adults from RCIA will be receiving the sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist during the 9:30 Mass. They will be joined by several younger people for the celebration of Eucharist. Please keep this group in your prayers as they experience the wonderful gifts that Christ has given to us.

Our Food Pantry

Our parish Food Pantry is in need of jelly, pudding and jello mixes, macaroni and cheese, nuts and dried fruit. Thank you. Your generosity makes it possible for us to help many hungry people.

Are You the Missing Piece?

Next weekend, May 3/4, during the coffee after each Mass, the Ministries/Committees of St. Jerome will have tables set up in the Fellowship Hall. Each table will have a representative to answer any questions you might have about their Ministry/Committee.

During this upcoming week, please prayerfully consider where your talent could be used for the benefit of the church and your parish family. There is someway for everyone to serve and everyone’s service is needed.

(Not enough time?....Remember Mother Teresa had the same number of hours in a day as we do.)

The Knights of Columbus, Walter Pollard Council 5480 in conjunction with Catholic Daughters of Court of Our Lady of Perpetual Help #2206 are pleased to invite all parishioners to partake in a parish-wide Baby Shower on May 10/11. Gifts of new and gently used sweaters, hats, booties, diapers, wipes, toiletries, bibs (newborn to size 2) along with checks or cash will benefit children who have been saved from abortion and given a chance at the fullness of life. Sorry, but we cannot accept any furniture or car seats. All donations will go to Catholic Charities and other selected care center charities. Those attending the Mother’s Day Breakfast at the Knights Hall may bring their donations there.

Drivers Needed

Over 600 people in our parish family are over the age of 60. Along with wisdom, grace, patience and tolerance, bad eye sight and fragile bones often are a reality for people over 60. It is very difficult to admit that as we grow older, we need help, especially if we have always been the one on the giving side. We have had several calls recently from senior citizens asking for rides to get groceries or come to Mass. The Justice and Peace Committee is looking for someone to organize a small group of people willing and able to help some of these people. Please call Jeanie at the office for more information or to volunteer.
