"Teachers open the
door, but you must enter by yourself." Saint Jerome has a good group of people who volunteer to teach the children of this parish each year. These dedicated teachers are participating in a formation program called Pathways, which is sponsored by the Diocese. There is great need for adults to volunteer as teachers, co-teachers and support for the regular Christian Formation classes and for the sacrament preparation classes. If you would like to assist, please contact the Margie Curtis a( margie@stjeromennva.org ) or the Christian Formation Office, Edith Watts ( ediedare@stjeromennva.org ) 757-877-3771 Catechetical Sunday

Theme for the year Helping others to encounter the living Christ is a fundamental goal of catechetical efforts. When Jesus asked Peter, "Who do you say that I am?" (Mark 8:29), he reminds us that before teaching other about Christ, we must know him well ourselves. Currently, more than half a million catechists serve in the nation's 19,000 Catholic parishes, missions and schools. These women and men introduce more than four million children and youth to the faith and traditions of the Catholic Church. In addition, these catechists provide opportunities for study, reflection and faith enrichment to a large number of Catholics. We at Saint Jerome thank all of our dedicated teachers.
